My name is Jessica
and I am The Bread Believer.
Bread. Think about it. One word with many meanings: from an all-encompassing term for food, to the toast holding your jelly, to the words of Jesus in the Bible – those five letters yield a multiplicity of interpretations!
That’s why I am The Bread Believer!
food, faith, fitness and freedom
Bread, in its broadest definition, is my main ingredient. And yet, Food, Faith, Fitness and Freedom comprise the entire recipe of my writing! My hope is The Bread Believer site ever serves as your go-to source for information on a variety of health and wellness topics.
My mission is to help you achieve your wellness goals through offering practical health concepts that point you to a relationship with Jesus!

A little about me…
Second to surrendering my life to Jesus Christ, marrying Robert was the best decision I ever made! Irrefutably, he makes me a better person. We have the best times together – working out, studying the Bible, shopping, exploring all things healthy living – our life is good!
Robert is a degreed architect and an experienced creative professional – a hair designer – who owns Robert Herrera Hair Design. He loves God and me, good design, pastured beef, lifting weights, our cats…and buttery pancakes!
Together, we help people look good and feel good!
After graduating Bible college, I took a unique route studying for my B.S./M.S. in Holistic Nutrition and, so far, have enjoyed over a decade of professional experience in the fields of health and wellness.
A Certified Gut and Psychology Syndrome (GAPS) Practitioner, ACE Certified Health Coach and Fitness Nutrition Specialist, seasonal and member of the National Association of Nutrition Professionals and the Weston A. Price Foundation, respectively, my areas of expertise center on the inextricable links between the Bible, health and nutrition.
I’m passionate about helping people tailor their food and lifestyle choices so they get their desired results!
While educational endeavors proved meaningful, the ‘school of hard knocks’ ever stands as my most comprehensive and valuable educator.
Having endured decades of major neurological and gastrointestinal disease, the education I provide naturally centers around the gut. I believe research shows a well functioning digestive tract is foundational for overall health.
Robert and I travelled an unpredictable and transformative journey learning what wholeness means – body, soul, and spirit. Through heartbreak, major illnesses, and ongoing, consistent recovery, I’ve discovered the fullness of life found solely in a relationship with Jesus.
Nourishment from homemade bread – among other nutrient dense food – is a God given asset to health. I’m excited to share my experiences with you for I truly believe you can prosper in every way…even as your soul prospers!
Nemo & Piper | My Babies
Nemo and Piper, our two Somali cats, (translation: fur babies) graciously allow me to live alongside them in our home. You’ll see these sweet peas throughout the blog and may even learn why they thrive on a homemade, raw diet!
On The Bread Believer, you and I will share together the immense health benefits of real and nourishing food, faith matters, and God’s design for our wellbeing.
We will uncover truths of a wholehearted life through the provision of Jesus; He is the Bread of Life! We’ll make mistakes, laugh, and share ideas as we explore the world of wellness!
